BRIEF

Missguided first approached Smart LED with an idea of what they wanted to achieve within each key area of the new flagship store. These focal areas would each contain visual elements that would help deliver the digital content the brand has become renowned for, across its physical presence.

SOLUTION

The solution was a large 3.9mm high resolution LED wall above each bank of tills, along with 31 additional screens throughout the store-scape.

An LED product with 3.9mm pixel pitch was selected for the two LED walls due to its suitability to environments where visitors are located in close proximity to the screen. Within such an intimate store setting, where visitors paying at the till point could be but metres away from the screen, this was an essential consideration. The LED was also chosen for being fanless and lightweight, in order to protect the ambience of the in-store experience. The display also had front access for any routine maintenance.

Smart LED sourced the entire LED solution and the screens needed for the walls directly from trusted partners and manufacturers.

INSTALLATION

For the main feature walls, a 8m x 1.5m landscape LED wall and a 7m x 2m LED wall was delivered. Both LED walls were set up parallel within Smart LED HQ for soak testing prior to installation.

These were developed to fit a bespoke frame designed by shopfitters Goodman Hichens, giving the effect that the LED walls are floating above each bank of tills.

The final screens carried a combined 917,504 pixels, 60 panels and 26sqm of high-resolution LED.

The entrance area was given clusters of 32” screens in landscape along with 75” screens in portrait on a white high-gloss MDF wall. Each screen could weigh up to 32kg, would need to be mounted 7 metres in the air and up to 700mm away from the wall to give a floating effect. After research and development from Smart LED into how best to achieve this, a custom-bracket was developed with a wire suspension. The end client and the design team were ecstatic with this solution.

Project Details

CONTENT

The entire digital signage network was sourced and installed by Smart LED using SignStix, its content delivery partner. SignStix’s cloud-based digital engagement platform was chosen for its ability to allow Missguided to manage and update all of the store's digital content in real-time, as well as create scheduled campaigns, from any internet-connected device. This would allow them to react quickly with digital content to any change in trend in-store, just as they would online.
EFFECT
The installation was a spectacular LED installation and store presence, with a flexible digital signage system and up-to-the-minute content delivery.
